Film launch "Vanishing Vultures" -- March/2006
The vulture advocacy programme, led by Nita Shah, has worked with the distinguished Indian filmmaker Mike Pandey to produce a film as part of the vulture conservation programme. Support for the film has come from the British High Commission's Global Opportunities Fund (GOF) as well as Earth Matters Foundation and the film was premiered at the British Embassy in Delhi on the 16 March. The film paints a stark picture of the threats faced by India's vultures and highlights the urgent actions needed to reverse their decline. It is being translated into 15 Indian languages, and has already been viewed by many key decision makers, including Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. It is already proving to be of crucial importance in getting the message across to key decision makers and a wider public. More links to this film, 1, 2, 3
