	The subcontinent-wide decline in Asian vultures has attracted the attention of the conservation community. A large number of regional and interaction groups are working on different aspects of the problem. Below we have summarised some of the organisations responsible for the ongoing work.


	Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) BNHS is the largest non-government organisation in the Indian sub-continent engaged in nature conservation research for over 120 years. BNHS is the main partner for Vulture Rescue in India, undertaking research and captive breeding


	Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) BCN is the largest ornithological organisation in Nepal. They are currently conducting surveys and monitoring of vulture populations across Nepal in partnership with RSPB/Birdlife International and The Peregrine Fund.


	Royal Society for the Protection of Birds The RSPB is a UK charity working to secure a healthy environment for birds and wildlife, both within the UK and internationally. The RSPB is extensively involved in research, advocacy, captive breeding and fund-raising for vulture conservation in Asia.


	Darwin Initiative The Darwin Initiative is a small grants programme that aims to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of resources around the world. The Initiative is funded and administered by the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, (Defra). The vulture project has received two Darwin


	International Centre for Birds of Prey Non-profit raptor conservation organisation based in the UK headed by Jemima Parry-Jones MBE. Provides funding and expertise for the vulture captive breeding programmes in India.


	Zoological Society of London The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is a charity devoted to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. ZSL has been involved with the vulture research programmes and captive breeding and provides veterinary support to the vulture centres.


	The Department of National Parks and Wildlfie Conservation The DNPWC is the Nepalese government organisation working on the vulture programme. They are providing land for the breeding centre and support for catching birds


	The Peregrine Fund The US based Peregrine Fund and Dr Lindsay Oaks (Washington State University) discovered the role of diclofenac in the vulture declines and are continuing research and monitoring in collaboration with BirdLife Pakistan.


	Rhino & Lion Wildlife Conservation NPO Vulture Programme The Vulture Programme at the RLWC works to undertake research and vulture education work in South Africa, and has worked closely with Vulture Rescue in testing the safety of veterinary drugs on vultures


	Himalayan Raptor Rescue Based in Nepal, Himalayan Raptor Rescue is a non profit organisation run from Pokhara. It supports the rehabilitation of injured birds of prey, undertakes raptor conservation awareness, and is raising funds for vulture conservation working with Bird Conservation Nepal


	University of Pretoria, South Africa The Department of Paraclinical Sciences, at the University of Pretoria, has led efforts to test the toxicity and safety of different veterinary drugs to vultures and is continuing with ongoing research on relevant to vulture conservation
